9:20 am - A Few Haikus, American and Traditional

Ages pound
away at
the jungle gym.

Gilded grid
the files of
civilization unnamed.

The cat lay sickened,
tongue black as charcoaled nightshade
from lapping spilled ink.

Scottish golfer
putting flawlessly
nervously eyes the geese.

Sweet, cakey flakey
donut I dropped on the floor:
still oh-so tasty.

From the twelfth story
I imagine that I am snow
a small sinking ship

People arn't people.
Everytime we make mistakes
I want to destroy

7:30 pm - Changes

Long 3-5-3

Change you
Give up things you love
Love anew

Short 2-3-2

Be other
Grow yourself

Traditional 5-7-5
(same number of syllables as in Japanese)

Let the world inside
Let outside shape the inside
Begin as though new

(just use a short phrase a longer one and a short one again)

Let change wash you away
Be other than you have ever wanted to be
Become someone new

current mood: cold

you requested it:
extra, mundane, whatever;
make it be un-real.

i had to oblige.
nothing ever happened, here.
total make-believe.

self-deluded joy.

silly fantasies:
mixing up my addled mind;
believing 'we' were.

3:20 am - four haiku

others' inner thoughts
i see: grown, become-numb boy
living on his own

worthless parasites
i see: drained of livelihood
dying on their own

more stability
i see: call for more control
loss of urgency

i see: call for more
over head, on ground, before
after anything

2:25 pm - stained glass haiku

high bright panes of glass
across many centuries
melting from their frames

now you ask of me
when will i clean stained windows
once they've melted down

miko hayama
birth defects: born beautiful
joy for tragedy

japanese lovers
not getting it together
could this be the end?

No one posts here now.
I guess the haiku is dead.
It's just so tragic.

why expand the mind
when thoughts encompass all things
have we skipped the heart

Religion... is it
really truthful? Or is it
all based upon myth?

The tears that I cry
stream onto the blood-stained floor
washing away sins

Last time that I checked
this girl wasn't in charge of
the world. Am I wrong?

I told you that I
loved you... it wasn't the truth
Could you forgive me?

Day-light savings time,
you fucked me up really bad.
My clocks are all wrong.

It's 8:45?
but I thought it was seven!

The tear that fall down
as you drive off on the bus,
will dry by next week.

"Look outside for snow,"
If it was rain, you'd call it,
"Just a light drizzle."

Shivering outside;
Girls try on leather jackets
with snow on the ground.
